The 20th Anniversary Chili Cook-Off, hosted by VCAC, was a huge success, bringing the community together for an evening of delicious chili, fun, and generosity.
The event raised $3,800 in just three hours, with an additional $1,500 check from VCAC going towards the ambulance fund as promised. The night also saw incredible contributions from local businesses and residents, including a $1,000 donation from Starfab and a $500 donation from Mr. Tony Cafaro.
The competition was strong, with our winners taking home custom plaques, designed and donated by C5 Fabrication & FBR Industries, Inc. Here are the top winners:
First Place Mild: Gene McCarthy
First Place Medium: Adonis Hatwood
First Place Hot: Mike Wilson
Overall Winner: Adonis Hatwood
The chili came in a variety of flavors, from white chicken chili to smoked brisket, and there was something for everyone to enjoy. Our dessert table was also a hit, raising $260 for a good cause, with leftover treats donated to Hannah’s House.
A special thank you to our judges, volunteers, and everyone who made this event possible. The evening also honored fallen soldiers with a Gold Star Families table, and our special guest Carl Hensley was recognized for his service. With 45+ raffle baskets, face painting for the kids, and so much more, this event truly showcased the heart and spirit of Vienna. We’re already looking forward to next year’s cook-off!
